· Macaws are the biggest parrot in the world.  Their bodies range from one to three feet. Sometimes their tails are longer than their bodies!  The Macaw’s diet consists of berries, nuts and fruits.  Parrots nest in trees that are at least 150 feet tall.  Macaws fly swiftly because of their long pointed wings.  Macaws have sharp, hooked bills which allow them to crack nuts open easily.  Their feet have two toes pointing forward and two pointing backward, which allows them to get a good grip on their food. Right now the Macaws are on the endangered list.
